Wendlow

Privacy policy

Effective and last updated October 13, 2026

Wendlow is an app for iPhone and iPad made by Calverda LLC, a New York limited liability company (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the Wendlow app, this website and messages you send us.

The short version: the app has no account, no server and no analytics. What you record in Wendlow stays on your devices and in the private area of your own iCloud account, which we cannot access. The only information that reaches us is what you choose to send by email, limited diagnostics that Apple shares only if you allow it, and the basic request logs any website produces. Each is described below.

What the app stores on your devices

Wendlow stores what you enter and the settings you choose:

This information is about your drinking and wellbeing, and you should treat it as sensitive. It is stored in Wendlow’s storage on your device, which Wendlow’s widgets can also read.

iCloud sync

If you are signed in to iCloud and iCloud is on for Wendlow, Apple syncs your record, including your thesis recording, between your devices through the private CloudKit database in your iCloud account. Calverda LLC has no access to that database. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple’s privacy policy. If iCloud is off or unavailable, your record is kept on that device only, and Settings shows this.

Device settings, such as notification times and appearance, are not synced.

Apple Health

If you allow it, Wendlow reads sleep analysis, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, workouts, step count and mindful minutes from Apple Health. It uses them to compare nights after drinking with nights after alcohol-free days, and to show Health figures alongside the practices you mark, for comparison. Health never marks a practice day for you.

These figures are calculated on your device each time they are needed. Data read from Apple Health is never written to Wendlow’s storage, never synced to iCloud by Wendlow, never sent to us and never shared. If you allow it, Wendlow can also write the number of alcoholic beverages you log to Apple Health, where Apple’s own privacy terms apply.

Health data is not used for advertising or marketing, is not sold, and is not disclosed to any third party. You can withdraw access at any time in the Health app or in iOS Settings.

Other places your information appears

Microphone and Face ID

The microphone is used only while you record your personal thesis. The recording is not transcribed. Face ID or your passcode is used only to unlock the app when App lock is on, and Wendlow never receives your biometric data.

Importing from another app

If you import a CSV export from another tracker, the file is read on your device and never uploaded. Its contents are added to your record like anything you enter yourself, and sync through your own iCloud in the same way.

What reaches us

The app contains no analytics, advertising, tracking or crash-reporting code, and it does not connect to any server run by Calverda LLC. Its App Store privacy label reads Data Not Collected. The following is all that can reach us:

We do not sell or rent personal information, share it for targeted advertising, or let third parties track you across sites or apps. The website does not respond differently to Do Not Track signals because it does no tracking.

Service providers and transfers

The providers who process this limited information for us are Apple (app distribution, payments and diagnostics), Vercel (website hosting) and our email provider. We require them to protect it at least as well as this policy does. Calverda LLC is based in New York, in the United States, so information you send us is processed there. Where the law requires it, these transfers rely on the providers’ contractual safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Your control

If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area

Calverda LLC is the controller of the limited personal data described under What reaches us. We process it on these bases: to respond to your request, or in our legitimate interest in providing support and running a secure website. For any health information you include in an email, the basis is your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time by asking us to delete the message. We make no automated decisions about you.

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our processing of your data, and to receive it in a portable form. Email support@wendlow.com to use these rights or to complain about how we handle your data. We will acknowledge a complaint within 30 days and respond without undue delay. You can also complain to your data protection authority, which in the UK is the Information Commissioner’s Office.

US state privacy rights

Residents of some states, including California, Washington, Nevada and Connecticut, have rights over their personal and health information. Our consumer health data privacy policy describes the consumer health data we handle and how to use those rights. We will not discriminate against you for using them.

Security

Your record is protected by your device’s security and by iCloud. You can add App lock with Face ID or your passcode. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure. If a breach affecting information we hold occurs, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

Age

Wendlow is intended only for adults who are 18 or older and of legal drinking age where they live. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly receive information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has contacted us, email us and we will delete the message.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the new version here. Any change to what Wendlow stores or shares will also be described in the app’s release notes. We will not begin collecting your record or Health data without asking you first.
